What is Choghadiya?

Choghadiya (चौघड़िया) is a Vedic muhurat system that splits the day and night into eight equal windows of roughly 90 minutes each. Each window is classified as auspicious (Amrit, Shubh, Labh), neutral (Chal) or inauspicious (Rog, Kaal, Udveg). Devotees consult the Choghadiya before starting travel, puja, business, or any new work.

Best Choghadiya for common activities

Amrit — best overall; ideal for puja, mantra and important beginnings.
Shubh — auspicious for ceremonies, gifts, wearing new clothes.
Labh — favours business, financial deals and learning.
Chal — neutral; best window for travel.
